I’m one content lady right now. Sure, not everything is perfect. I’m not even sure I wish it was. Life certainly has its struggles at the moment. But I feel resilient. I feel like I have grit. They say grit is the number one attribute of the most successful people in the world and you know what, I have to agree. Despite being smashed with life’s ups and downs I feel like my grit is what is keeping my head level, my creative thinking on point and my mind constantly finding solutions. I feel focused. Content. And that feeling just got a whole lot stronger after hanging with friends and reminding myself I’m not in it alone. I’m not going to ask for more happiness, I’m going to work on my grit because I feel like my happiness is a side effect of my grit. So onwards and forwards I go. I have been visiting the family and taking care of Mum during her first round of radiation after her breast cancer diagnosis. Farmers are a tough bunch, farmers wives more so. The connection to land is so strong, death is seen as a part of life. Threats to life are seen as a thing to work through, a journey. There is something so humbling about being back on the farm, about witnessing my family just get on with things. No drama, no downward spirals, no victim mentality.
